We seek interested candidates who understand the value of relationship building through a positive and respectful approach and who identify with any of the following experience: 
• Understanding and identifying methods to remove barriers that increase universal accessibility, 
• Advising from a public education perspective methods of identifying and removing barriers, 
• Familiarity with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 
• Advising on accessible website development and accessible graphic design; can be an understanding of the WCAG 2.0 Level AA from the designer perspective or the user experience (UX), 
• Advising on education methods/effective idea sharing, 
• Identify within the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) community and have an understanding of barriers experienced by people with disabilities, 
• Advocating and/or speaking in support of an idea or course of action from an ally perspective; and/or 
• Thinking from an inclusive lens.  
 
Representation from all areas of Guelph is desired. The Guelph Barrier Free Committee is committed to ensuring our members and Board reflects the community we serve. Our recruitment processes strive to ensure a diversity of backgrounds and experiences are represented.

- Monitoring the visit to ensure proper social distancing and proper visiting protocol is being followed

Our current need is for MALE volunteers for our groups.  
 
A Big Bunch Volunteer will be a positive role model and mentor to a group of children. Volunteers will work together to plan and implement outings for the group. They will meet with the group on a consistent basis, usually 2 times per month and will transport the children to and from the event. The volunteers and children will participate in fun activities such as crafts, games, sports, watching movies, etc. Volunteers and children are matched based on age preference and needs of the group.

Kitchen Salvage Service Crew (aka Deconstruction)   Centre Wellington  East Wellington  Guelph  North Wellington  South Wellington

The Kitchen Salvage Service crew (also known as the deconstruction crew) helps remove kitchen components from local homes and businesses, and loads it onto the ReStore truck, so that the kitchen can be donated to the Habitat ReStore. When the ReStore sells these kitchens, the funds support Habitat for Humanity's mission of building affordable homes in our community.  
 
Kitchen Salvage Service Crew members are ambassadors of the ReStore and Habitat for Humanity. They will be trained on proper processes, including safety measures. Crew members agree that the donor's home/business and donation is to be treated with care and respect.

ReStore Assistants work with ReStore staff and other volunteers to run the day-to-day operations of the store. Volunteers put together product, merchandise product, clean and organize sections of the store, help customers in finding products that suit their needs and carrying and loading purchases into their vehicles, receive donations at the warehouse entrance, and test donated products before they go on the sales floor.  
 
For those who are interested in helping to promote the ReStore and our products online, you can support our online retail initiatives.  
 
You may also be asked to consider receiving training on driving our trucks in order to support our donation pick-up team. Having a roster of trained and insured drivers is vital to ensure our Donation Pick-Up Service can be provided to our community.  
 
Individuals who complete a minimum number of hours in the store and who have an acceptable police records check completed are eligible to receive training on the cash register. This is a great opportunity to develop/utilize your customer service skills!

Ride the bus which takes clients to/from the Adult Day Program located in Erin. Seats on the bus are spaced 2 meters apart. Greet client and ask screening questions, offer hand sanitizer, ensure clients are seated safely.
