Community of Hearts Lifelong Learning Centre
We are looking for passionate volunteers who are able to facilitate and support our Boxes of Hearts Social Enterprise Program! 
-Support individuals with developmental disabilities to gain job skills in a workplace setting 
-Provide instructions on task completion  
-Assure production is meeting Health and Safety standards 
-Provide support to individuals as needed 
-Encourage participation creating the product, packaging and during clean-up 
-Ensure clean up is completed at the end of the evening/lock up 
-Attend beginning, mid, and end semester meeting to discuss progress/support/successes of participants 
-Attend events and sales opportunities and assisting with sales of product  
-Monitor inventory
PIN - The People and Information Network
Volunteers are needed to help build enthusiasm for volunteerism in Guelph and bring awareness to the needs of community agencies.  
 
PIN Network provides connections and leadership in Guelph and Wellington County to support development of individuals and organizations. We provide a hub for volunteer opportunities and engagement.  
 
Volunteers will work with PIN Networks' Volunteerism Ambassador and assist at events, pop-ups, resource development, campaigns and presentations. Tasks are flexible to the needs of the program and volunteers' interests, skills or learning goals. These may include: supporting in-person events (volunteer fairs, pop-up tables), preparing for presentations (research, script writing, slide development, speaking), assisting with digital media (type, infographic), campaign development and implantation or other tasks as interest, skill and program needs arise.  
 
Shift times and schedule may vary from week to week based on availability and program needs.  
 
This is a hybrid role with both in-person and online components.  
 
This role is a great fit for someone who is passionate about volunteerism, would like to learn more about community services or would like to gain experience working in an outreach role.
Guelph Tool Library
The Guelph Tool Library is excited to be working with Habitat for Humanity Guelph-Wellington to bring back Re:Purpose Fest, a free community recycling festival. Re:Purpose Fest brings together a variety of community initiatives that help repair, re-home, reuse, and recycle household goods. This one day event will take place on Saturday, May 28th from 11 am to 2 pm at 104 Dawson Road. 
 
The following volunteer opportunities are available: 
1. Set up/ tear down -9:00 am - 11:30 am and 2:00 pm - 5 pm: Help with the loading and unloading of tables, chairs, tents, signage, donated goods 
2.Greeters - 11:00 - 1:00 or 1:00 - 3:00: Directing traffic, directing visitors to the different sections of the event,  
3. Donation Station Attendant - Some organizations won't have a person on hand to talk about their initiative, or to approve/reject donations. Each table will have a sign with acceptable/non accepted items and more info about the organization

Volunteer Fundraising Coordinators set up and manage donation drives during the 
Festival. Coordinate before, during, and after the Festival and through social 
media. If you are interested in fundraising, marketing & promotions, social 
media and event coordination, this role is for you. We want to fill this 
volunteer position with an individual who is creative, organized and likes to 
engage with the general public.

communication and interpersonal skills. Training will be provided for this 
position.

Refrigeration Truck Attendant Volunteers monitor our refrigerated truck and help the food vendors safely open and close the door while they access their food items in the truck. This role 
involves some physical labour, including opening and closing the door and

Stage Management Support volunteers are required to greet performers to help coordinate and assist them 
as needed. The volunteer will coordinate with the sound and stage 
technicians and help set up the stage for each performance. 
This role will also require someone comfortable and confident with public 
speaking as the volunteer will be acting as an MC and introducing each act 
to the audience. It is also essential to have good time management skills, as 
you will need to follow the schedule and help ensure all performances are on 
time.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph, Mentoring Services for Children and Youth

A School-Based Group Leader will be a positive role model and mentor to a small group of youth in grades 5-8. Two volunteers will work together to facilitate a variety of planned group games and activities centered around the themes of mental wellness, physical health, and self confidence, which are provided to the volunteers in advance. Volunteers provide youth who are in need of support with a positive social environment, and build relationships with youth in order to express care and provide guidance.

Up and Running delivers friendly, supportive running and walking programs that share the mental health benefits of exercise, nature and social connections with women looking to improve their mental health and well-being. 
 
Running mentors are responsible for participating in our group running programs, supporting the coaching staff, encouraging and making connections with participants, and providing feedback to coaches re: the program.  
 
Mentors support programs for women with mental health challenges (such as mild to moderate anxiety and depression) and are expected to be sensitive to these challenges, and adhere to Up and Running’s confidentiality agreement. 
 
All of our programs are delivered outside on trails in a downtown park (and on sidewalks for our evening winter programs) to enable participants to enjoy the benefits of nature in a safe, community space. We celebrate our participants getting outside and moving, rather than going faster and further, and adhere to the principle: "No one left behind".

-provide expert input to the ongoing development of the Guelph Tool Library 
-provide Human Resources expertise, to assist us in our charitable status application

Online Program
WE Breastfeed & Chestfeed program supports parents feeding human milk in any way, in any amount. Parents can receive support in two ways. One-to-one telephone support with trained and experienced parent-volunteers or weekly drop-in Breastfeeding & Chestfeed Cafes. Cafe is offered in an online format and is a great place for parents to socialize with other breastfeeding / chestfeeding families and get support with challenges. 
 
Become trained to offer support and lead group sessions providing feeding & parenting support to other parents. Keep logs of supporting, track hours, remain in good communication with the program coordinator. 
 
 
IMPORTANT Information:  
 
Volunteers in this role are required to have had breastfeed or chestfeeding experience. Please consider joining this program as an administrative support or in a health promotion role if you do not have breast or chest feeding experience.  
 
Guelph CHC acknowledges the importance of Peer-led work and offers 20 hours of training for this position but also ask for a minimum 6 month commitment. 
 
One of our strategic aims to build capacity in our community. Volunteers in this role must have a connection to Guelph.

The Guelph Wellington Seniors Association is one of the largest seniors organizations of its kind in Canada, providing diverse programs, activities, and services to Guelph and Wellington County. 
 
We are a not-for-profit corporation and a registered charity, managed by a volunteer Board of Directors, with support from GWSA staff and hundreds of dedicated volunteers. 
 
The GWSA partners with the City of Guelph in the operation of the Evergreen Seniors Community Centre, a state-of-the-art recreation facility. We also operate in other locations, including the West End Community Centre and elsewhere, depending on interest and resources. 
 
GWSA’s Community Support Services (CSS) provide additional specialized services for many vulnerable seniors in the community.

ReStore Assistants work with ReStore staff and other volunteers to run the day-to-day operations of the store. Volunteers put together product, merchandise product, clean and organize sections of the store, help customers in finding products that suit their needs and carrying and loading purchases into their vehicles, receive donations at the warehouse entrance, and test donated products before they go on the sales floor.  
 
For those who are interested in helping to promote the ReStore and our products online, you can support our online retail initiatives.  
 
You may also be asked to consider receiving training on driving our trucks in order to support our donation pick-up team. Having a roster of trained and insured drivers is vital to ensure our Donation Pick-Up Service can be provided to our community.  
 
Individuals who complete a minimum number of hours in the store and who have an acceptable police records check completed are eligible to receive training on the cash register. This is a great opportunity to develop/utilize your customer service skills!

- 30-40 minute sessions 2x/week in small virtual “hubs” afterschool between 4-5:30pm, Tuesdays-Thursdays

- 8-10 participants; 2-4 volunteer coaches 
- Sessions include fitness, literacy & mentoring activities, with emphasis on Social Emotional Learning 
- Use an easy-to-use virtual platform to facilitate programming 
- Take attendance and follow up with club director weekly 
 
In-Person Coaches:  
- 2 hours once a week for 32 weeks, at the school (Oct-Jun) - start dependent on when schools allow in-person programming to resume
