PIN - The People and Information Network
Volunteers are needed to help build enthusiasm for volunteerism in Guelph and bring awareness to the needs of community agencies.  
 
PIN Network provides connections and leadership in Guelph and Wellington County to support development of individuals and organizations. We provide a hub for volunteer opportunities and engagement.  
 
Volunteers will work with PIN Networks' Volunteerism Ambassador and assist at events, pop-ups, resource development, campaigns and presentations. Tasks are flexible to the needs of the program and volunteers' interests, skills or learning goals. These may include: supporting in-person events (volunteer fairs, pop-up tables), preparing for presentations (research, script writing, slide development, speaking), assisting with digital media (type, infographic), campaign development and implantation or other tasks as interest, skill and program needs arise.

WE Breastfeed & Chestfeed program supports parents feeding human milk in any way, in any amount. Parents can receive support in two ways. One-to-one telephone support with trained and experienced parent-volunteers or weekly drop-in Breastfeeding & Chestfeed Cafes. Cafe is offered in an online format and is a great place for parents to socialize with other breastfeeding / chestfeeding families and get support with challenges. 
 
Become trained to offer support and lead group sessions providing feeding & parenting support to other parents. Keep logs of supporting, track hours, remain in good communication with the program coordinator. 
 
 
IMPORTANT Information:  
 
Volunteers in this role are required to have had breastfeed or chestfeeding experience. Please consider joining this program as an administrative support or in a health promotion role if you do not have breast or chest feeding experience.  
 
Guelph CHC acknowledges the importance of Peer-led work and offers 20 hours of training for this position but also ask for a minimum 6 month commitment.

Currently virtual, with post-pandemic in-person meetings at Guelph City Hall.
We seek interested candidates who understand the value of relationship building through a positive and respectful approach and who identify with any of the following experience: 
• Understanding and identifying methods to remove barriers that increase universal accessibility, 
• Advising from a public education perspective methods of identifying and removing barriers, 
• Familiarity with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 
• Advising on accessible website development and accessible graphic design; can be an understanding of the WCAG 2.0 Level AA from the designer perspective or the user experience (UX), 
• Advising on education methods/effective idea sharing, 
• Identify within the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) community and have an understanding of barriers experienced by people with disabilities, 
• Advocating and/or speaking in support of an idea or course of action from an ally perspective; and/or 
• Thinking from an inclusive lens.

Meet every other week for a minimum of one year. Share information, resources, job shadowing opportunities, Post-Secondary planning, goal setting, and help a youth reach their full potential.
Up and Running Guelph
Support the Up and Running's Marketing Committee in developing effective marketing and communications strategies and tools to enable us to broaden our reach, and enhance our impact.  
The Committee has the following goals:  
Work to develop a comprehensive marketing plan for Up and Running to enable us to reach out to potential participants, volunteers, and community partners  
Develop and implement a plan for our social media communications 
Develop marketing materials such as posters and brochures, and a plan for their distribution, enlisting Board members where needed 
Update our website to ensure it is aligned with our goals, relevant, and effectively reaching our target audience 
Maintain and build relationships with local businesses, organizations, health care professionals and media to enhance our presence in the community 
Evaluate effectiveness of marketing initiatives/tools and make appropriate changes 
Conduct community outreach and develop partnerships (e.g. partner with community events, other organizations)

Provide support for adults with developmental disabilities in one of J.O.E.'s streams:  
 
1. The Community Helpers Program (provides opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities for community outreach)  
2. Training Grounds (Volunteers needed to facilitate with online mentorship)

Duties include caring for a cat or dog (you can choose which animal you would like to foster, and when), providing daily exercise and enrichment, taking pets to their vet appointments.
