• Welcome participants, help them to sign up and guide them to the appropriate location 
• Maintain a warm and welcoming environment where participants are treated with dignity and respect  
• Help set up (board) room before the session 
• Help set up any equipment required for presentation (laptop, projector) 
• Assist staff to prepare materials- photocopying, cutting, sorting  
• Arrange promotional materials for display  
• Prepare coffee, tea, and refreshments 
• Distribute and gather participants’ surveys (if needed) 
• Assist staff during the event with set-up and clean-up

Fitness Room Supervisors will open the small fitness room and supervise residents while they use the machines. Volunteers are not expected to offer fitness advice, but are there to encourage residents, assist with machine settings and call for help if needed.

Pet Visitor Volunteers will provide one-to-one or small group visits with their pet (dog, cat, bunny, etc) to enrich the resident's quality of life through interaction with pets and their owners. Pets must qualify for this program with behaviour and temperament.

Volunteers will work closely with Recreation Staff to assist with various recreation programs. Programs may include, but are not limited to: Bingo, Trivia, Crafts, Sing-alongs, Games, Art etc. Volunteer will have the opportunity to visit with residents before and after programs.

The Elliott Community is excited to host our annual fundraiser event and we are looking for some volunteers to assist us.  
 
Servers – To serve appetizers and refreshments to guests (Smart Serve certification an asset but not required) 
 
Kitchen Support – Bussing dishes, transferring food from the kitchen to stations and assist with clean up 
 
Auction Attendants – Assist in answering guest questions, monitoring bid sheets, keeping track of winning bids and more!

Supervise Volunteer groups cooking, serving and cleaning up breakfast for 75-150 people everyday Wednesday morning from 8:15am - 11:30am. Breakfast consists of Pancakes, Eggs, Toast and Sausages.

• Provide ongoing support through friendship, guidance and advice. For example, accompany the family to outings, events, cooking, shopping etc.  
• Plan a fun activity together. For example, hiking, ice-skating, or the likes.  
• Work with the partner family to set goals with them.  
• Communicate with the Family Program Coordinator to monitor progress, provide information and make referrals if needed.  
• Link families to the required resources such as schools, doctors, etc, as needed and being mindful of the unique needs of each family.  
• Support the partner family with informal language training 
• Provide the meeting report to the Program Coordinator after each meeting.

This is an opportunity to make a difference for future generations. Once a year, on the Saturday closest to Earth Day, volunteers plant thousands of trees to create a mixed forest to replace 100 acres of open fields near Guelph Lake.  
 
You need to be able to walk. That's about it! Wear sturdy footwear and clothing that's appropriate for the weather. Grand River Conservation Authority and Rotary will show you how to plant trees so that they survive. Bring a friend, a family or a team from work for more fun.

Active Start targets skills such as running, jumping, catching, throwing, kicking, striking, balancing and body awareness. Volunteers provide one-to-one support to better enable the participants to succeed! This is a wonderful program to give clients the opportunity to gain valuable skills in movement and group settings.
