Dining Room Assistants will help in the dining rooms in the Long-Term Care units. Duties include encouraging residents to eat, assisting with cutlery and assisting with the Restorative Dining program as per resident needs.

Fitness Room Supervisors will open the small fitness room and supervise residents while they use the machines. Volunteers are not expected to offer fitness advice, but are there to encourage residents, assist with machine settings and call for help if needed.

Volunteers will provide one-to-one visits to individual residents in Long-Term Care and/or Retirement Living, which could involve visiting, playing cards or games, attending special functions on-site, reminiscing or walking in the gardens of the Elliott Community.

Gift Shop Volunteers will provide customer service in The Elliot Community's gift shop, allowing residents and visitors to purchase items such as greeting cards, small gifts, and snacks. Duties include assisting residents with purchases, using the point of sale software, restocking inventory, and tidying shelves.

• Establish and maintain a welcoming environment in the salon 
• Assist in bringing residents to and from the salon (need to be able to push residents in wheelchairs) 
• Light duties within the salon including taking out hair rollers, folding towels, sweeping 
• Interact with the resident through conversation/hand massages while residents are waiting for their appointment and following their appointment

Pet Visitor Volunteers will provide one-to-one or small group visits with their pet (dog, cat, bunny, etc) to enrich the resident's quality of life through interaction with pets and their owners. Pets must qualify for this program with behaviour and temperament.

Volunteers will work closely with Recreation Staff to assist with various recreation programs. Programs may include, but are not limited to: Bingo, Trivia, Crafts, Sing-alongs, Games, Art etc. Volunteer will have the opportunity to visit with residents before and after programs.
