We are in need of volunteers to help complete construction of the interior of our Cityview Village site in Guelph. Specifically, skilled/experienced volunteers with a background in construction, renovations and power tool use. We are happy to teach any unskilled volunteers with a desire to help!

Habitat for Humanity Wellington Dufferin Guelph, Guelph
This is the fourth year in a row that The Beer Store is running a donation drive in support of Habitat for Humanity Canada, requesting in-store donations at the till, with select stores holding bottle drives on Saturday, September 8. 
 
All proceeds will go to local Habitat for Humanity organizations in Ontario, helping them build affordable homes in partnership with low-income families in need of safe and decent housing. 
 
- assist The Beer Store staff stationed outside the store to ask customers for their bottle empties 
- generate excitement around the campaign 
- answer general questions about Habitat for Humanity’s mission 
- handing out promotional material

The mentor's role includes: 
-        Physical activity: Volunteers supervise and encourage the children through the physical activity component of the program. They lead warm up, running workouts, and other fitness activities while cheering them on and providing encouragement. 
 -        Snack: Volunteers help to distribute snack to the students after the physical activity component. 
-        Word of the Day: Each volunteer has the opportunity to explain a "Word of the Day” for the whole group. They will share the word selected for that week (as provided in the weekly program manual) and engage feedback from the students regarding the definition and how they have exemplified it at some point in their lives. 
-        Journal: Volunteers assist children to record their accomplishments in both running and reading each week. 
-      Reading: Volunteers supervise as children read silently, read one-on-one with children or lead group reading, listen to them read and providing help and encouragement.

Volunteers are needed to drive (or ride along) the Guelph Community Health Centre's agency van to and from food provider locations within the City of Guelph. This involves volunteers working in pairs to pick up and deliver client food boxes from food banks or food cupboards and providing transportation for clients to access the North End Market. Alternatively, there is also the opportunity to deliver Garden Fresh Boxes directly to people that are unable to pick up their box from a host site. 
 
Volunteer work in teams of two for this position. One drives while the other navigates any passenger needs, reads maps or completes paperwork needed.

Volunteers are needed to deliver meals to clients in the Guelph area. Deliveries are done in teams of two (one driver and one runner). Volunteer positions are available for both tasks.
Guelph Hiking Trail Club
Trail runs from Guelph to Limehouse.Section responsibility negotiable.
Reports to Radial Line Trail Coordinator. 
Responsible for one of 8 sections of the Radial Line Trail. 
Duties include spring and autumn inspection of trail and submission of a one page trail status report. 
Light maintenance activities to ensure trail is passable and hiker friendly. 
Spring meeting with other section leaders to assess what support is necessary for trail improvement. 
Access to equipment and additional support through coordinator.
Lakeside HOPE House
Supervise Volunteer groups cooking, serving and cleaning up breakfast for 75-150 people everyday Wednesday morning from 8:45am - 11:30am. Breakfast consists of Pancakes, Eggs, Toast and Sausages.
