Assist staff during the program with set-up and clean-up of the computer room 
• Teach program participants one to one or in small groups basic computer and digital technology skills such as: 
o Internet browsing 
o Using the mouse and keyboard 
o Using and setting up email accounts 
o Using and setting up Skype accounts 
o Using internet search engines to find information 
o Word Processing 
o Accessing audio-visual content on websites such as You tube 
o Using and setting up Facebook accounts 
o Accessing language-specific information (i.e.: newspapers, news sites) online 
o Safe web browsing and internet use 
• Assist program participants one on one with practicing computer/digital technology skills as per their needs 
• Assist staff to deliver short presentations on computer skills and applications to program participants 
• Informally assess participants’ learning needs and goals through one to one interaction 
• Suggest appropriate techniques and resources to participants that align with their learning needs 
• Refer to staff for any concerns, questions, and challenges

Duties include: Connecting community members with health/social resources; Coordinate with staff & other volunteers to maintain accurate database. Answering phones or in person requests and helping visitors get the resources they need.

gastropub street festival taking place on Cork Street and the MacDonnell parking lot in 
gorgeous downtown Guelph!  
 
It will be an amazing night of local food, beverages, and 
live music with all proceeds benefiting Lakeside HOPE House.  
 
Our amazing volunteers are so important for the success of this event. We have various roles available for all different skill sets!  
Whether it's helping us with collecting donations, to interacting in our new children's area, we have something for everyone!

Ideally this is done with 2 people but volunteers will be trained to do it on their own. 9:45-10:15 am: Food & beverage preparation, gathering toys, dishes, etc., transport supplies -walking from Guelph CHC to Guelph Public Library with a wagon. 10:25-11 am: set-up program space, welcoming participants & assisting with sign-in. 11 am - 12:15 pm: Engaging young children and assisting with infants so parents & peers may participate. 12:15-1 pm clean-up program space and assist parents leaving. 1-1:45 pm walk back to GCHC and wash dishes & toys, put supplies away. Keep track of your hours, stay in good communication.

Active Start provides fundamental movement skills and fundamental sports skills to children with special needs, ages 3.5 - 7. Active Start targets skills such as running, jumping, catching, throwing, kicking, striking, balancing and body awareness. Volunteers provide one-to-one support to better enable the participants to succeed! This is a wonderful program to give clients the opportunity to gain valuable skills in movement and group settings.

Coordinators: are involved in running the program and they perform tasks such as ordering the food.  
Helpers: are involved with food prep, menu planning, program attendance, serving and clean up. 
Grocery shoppers: compile lists depending on the planned menu, buy and store the food appropriately and ensure that all receipts go to the Administrators. 
Administrators: are involved with the program paper work, they track receipts and do budgeting and fundraising.
