As a volunteer you would be responsible for unlocking and locking the gallery, initiating media equipment and turning it off, keeping a limit of 3 people in the gallery, enforcing the wearing of masks.

Homewood Health Centre

The volunteer will greet and serve patients, visitors and other customers in a friendly manner. You will also handle cash sales and count the float before and after your shift. In addition, you will ensure all food and drink products are stocked and tidy, and record complaints, concerns and compliments that require follow up from the Manager. Occasionally assisting with other duties as assigned.

SEED Fresh Food Warehouse - Guelph Location
The SEED is a not-for-profit food project at the Guelph Community Health Centre that was 
created to work towards a community with no barriers to healthy food. The Emergency Food Delivery Program is a response to Covid-19. This program supports 10,000 community members how are most deeply affected by the COVID-19 situation. For example: vulnerable seniors, people with low-income, people with health challenges. 
 
Basket Packing and Warehouse Crew work together as a team (physically distance) picking and packing fresh and frozen meals into Emergency Food Basket at the packing warehouse. 
 
Basket Packing runs during the week during the day.  
 
Important Information: The warehouse is a large building with ample space for physical distancing and masks are required while on-site. There is a physical element to this role. Some of the produce is heavy or awkward.  
For example: a full cabbage, bag of potatoes and the full food baskets.

Delivery Crew Volunteers are critical to the success of this program. Delivery Drivers bring healthful food to people with barriers to transportation or who are unable to leave their homes.  
 
Delivery Crew Volunteers pick up Emergency Food Baskets at the packing warehouse and delivery them to community members homes. The Packing Warehouse is located on Huron Street in the Ward. It is a large enough building to drive into, has ample space for physical distance & everyone is required to be masked. Volunteer are required to drop Food Baskets off at the client doorway and do not enter homes.  
 
 
IMPORTANT Information: This position requires use of personal vehicle and cell phone. This role can be done in pairs with people from the same household.

Current shift times are Monday 10:30-4 pm and Tuesday to Thursday 8-4 pm.

Volunteers shovel snow (including the accumulation of snow left at the end of driveways when the streets are plowed) following a heavy snowfall for senior and/or disabled residents.

The Guelph CHC's program WE Breastfeed and Chestfeeding program supports parents feeding human milk in any way, in any amount. Parents can receive support in two ways. One-to-one telephone support with trained and experienced parent-volunteers or Weekly online Breastfeeding Cafes.  
 
Volunteers in this role support the program by assisting the program coordinator in developing promotional material, assisting with program evaluation and developing a digital marketing plan.  
 
This would be a great role for someone who would like to get experience working in the health promotion field, public health or nutritional supports. University Students welcome.  
 
IMPORTANT information: Volunteers in this role do not need to have past experience breast or chestfeeding but do need to have a an interest in promoting the benefits of feeding human milk.  
 
In order to ensure a fulsome experience, we ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of 4 months or one semester.

WE Breastfeed & Chestfeed program supports parents feeding human milk in any way, in any amount. Parents can receive support in two ways. Cafe is offered in an online format and is a great place for parents to socialize with other breastfeeding / chestfeeding families and get support with challenges. 
 
Become trained to offer support and lead group sessions providing feeding & parenting support to other parents. Keep logs of supporting, track hours, remain in good communication with the program coordinator. 
 
 
IMPORTANT Information:  
 
Volunteers in this role are required to have had breastfeed or chestfeeding experience. Please consider joining this program as an administrative support or in a health promotion role if you do not have breast or chest feeding experience.  
 
Guelph CHC acknowledges the importance of Peer-led work and offers 20 hours of training for this position but also ask for a minimum 6 month commitment.

Food Access Delivery Volunteers play a very important role by linking community members to the food they need. This includes pick-up of hampers/boxes from emergency food providers, food cupboards or food banks and delivery the hamper/boxes to Guelph CHC clients. Pick-ups and deliveries are made within the the City of Guelph. Deliveries are to the door only, volunteers are not required to enter homes.  
 
This position requires volunteers to have access to a vehicle and be able to lift 20 to 30 lbs. Mileage fee are provided.
Victorian Order of Nurses, Waterloo Wellington Dufferin, VON - Mount Forest
Volunteers are needed to deliver meals to clients in the Centre and North Wellington areas.

The Kitchen Salvage Service crew (also known as the deconstruction crew) helps remove kitchen components from local homes and businesses, and loads it onto the ReStore truck, so that the kitchen can be donated to the Habitat ReStore. When the ReStore sells these kitchens, the funds support Habitat for Humanity's mission of building affordable homes in our commuinty.  
 
Kitchen Salvage Service Crew members are ambassadors of the ReStore and Habitat for Humanity. They will be trained on proper processes, including safety measures. Crew members agree that the donor's home/business and donation is to be treated with care and respect.
