New Way is an alternative school program. It is an Education and Community Partnership Program between the Upper Grand District School Board and Wyndham House, supported by CMHA and Family and Children's Services. There is a full-time teacher from the school board and a full-time worker from the agency on site at all times. We serve high school-aged students.

We have a school component and a therapeutic component. We run an art program as well as a healthy eating program supported by the Children's Foundation. We serve a maximum of 16 students in a day, 8 at a time.

This could mean playing games with them, engaging in a conversation about what's on their mind, playing in the gym or in the school yard, cooking and baking, or any other type of activity that will engage a child and draw out their personality and interests.
