Habitat for Humanity Wellington Dufferin Guelph, Guelph
Guelph, Wellington County, Dufferin County
The Kitchen Salvage Service crew (also known as the deconstruction crew) helps remove kitchen components from local homes and businesses, and loads it onto the ReStore truck, so that the kitchen can be donated to the Habitat ReStore. When the ReStore sells these kitchens, the funds support Habitat for Humanity's mission of building affordable homes in our commuinty.

Kitchen Salvage Service Crew members are ambassadors of the ReStore and Habitat for Humanity. They will be trained on proper processes, including safety measures. Crew members agree that the donor's home/business and donation is to be treated with care and respect.

Having a roster of trained and insured drivers is vital to ensure our Donation Pick-Up Service can be provided to our community. By volunteering as a driver and ambassador for Habitat for Humanity, you will be asked to support our ReStore team in providing an excellent Donation Pick-Up Service experience for our donors. Full orientation and training on our vehicles is provided, and is required to be completed successfully. Previous experience driving 16 ft/20 ft straight trucks is highly valued but not a prerequisite. Ability to lift heavy items is also valued, in order to assist the Pick-Up Team with receiving donations.

As a valuable member of our driver roster, you are not limited to driving the truck, but in fact have the opportunity to receive training on many different roles within the ReStore, growing your skills and experience in this fast-paced and exciting industry.
