Guelph and District Multicultural Festival
Help organize a world class, multicultural festival that offers Guelph & surrounding communities an affordable & accessible multi-faceted cultural experience.  
 
The Guelph and District Multicultural Festival had its beginnings as a small downtown event in 1978. It has since moved to Riverside Park, attendance has increased from 2,000 to 25,000 people and generates cultural awareness and funding for local community groups, as well as foster economic development in Guelph and beyond.  
 
The Guelph & District Multicultural Festival relies heavily on an enthusiastic group of volunteers. Due to Covid-19, our organization has evolved beyond just a 3-day Festival. We now have several different positions that focus on ensuring our ethnic communities and youth group are engaged. We strongly believe it is through these engagements we can create a culturally diverse and inclusive community.  
 
Volunteer Bookkeepers help by maintaining records and the financial record of the festival.

EarlyON Admin Volunteer work in-person at the Early ON Child and Family Centre in the Stone Road Mall and support staff with a variety of administrative tasks.  
 
Based on skills, interest and need, this role may include:  
 
• Monitor and respond to emails messages in an appropriate manner 
• Data entry and other administrative tasks 
• Assist with mass mailouts and donor thank-yous.  
• Laminating, printing and /or organizing outreach materials for EarlyON 
• Monitoring office supplies and creating an order as needed. 
• Phone call reminders to clients, program participants or customer check in calls 
• Acting as a greeter and create a welcoming environment  
 
GCHC Staff will work with volunteers and re-visit task list, working hours, working location regularly to ensure this is a meaningful and helpful role for both volunteers and staff. Based on Public Health requirements changes may need to be made on a short notice. Volunteers will be notified ASAP when these changes occur.  
 
Volunteers are asked to Review and abide by Guelph CHC’s policies, including COVID Vaccination policy and Pandemic requirements for screening and stay home if unwell.

GCHC Shelldale Clinic Greeter role are the welcomers'. They greet, confirm appointments and redirect as needed. This would be a great fit for someone with a background or interest in medical secretary work. Task list, working hours, working location will be reviewed regularly to ensure this is a meaningful and helpful role for both volunteers, clients and staff. Based on Public Health requirements changes may need to be made on short notice. Volunteers will be notified ASAP when these changes occur.  
 
Based on volunteer interest and staff need, this role may include:  
 
• Greet and welcome visitors and clients in a friendly manner  
• Confirm clients appointment, ensure appointment is to be in person and not virtual  
• Screen everyone coming in, asking clients COVID screening questions, take temperature  
• Confirm we have the correct phone number for clients and up to date health card number and version code  
• Assess visitors’ and clients’ needs and connect them with appropriate CHC and community supports  
• Assist with forms, applications, etc.  
• Accompany clients to the recommended service within the CHC (ie let them know to go to reception for their appointment check-in)  
• Stay informed of current community resources  
• Communicate with staff for support if needed  
• Attend volunteer meetings, required training and orientation  
• Follow all record-keeping and evaluation processes, as required  
• Assist with collection of health services surveys  
• Assist main reception with client related needs (handing out referrals, giving directions, doing reminder phone calls etc)

Volunteer Office Assistant provides an in-person opportunity for volunteers to support the work of the GCHC, The SEED and staff. Based on volunteer interest and staff need, this role may include:  
 
• Monitor and respond to emails messages in an appropriate manner

• Supporting access to the Pet Food Pantry and tracking inventory 
• Assisting staff with PPE inventory tracking (6-8 week cycle) 
• Assisting staff with Get Connected program (testing phones, preparing kits) 
• Preparing Harm Reduction Kits, PPE Kits or Notes or Hope kits. 
• Phone call reminders to clients, program participants or customer check in calls 
• Data entry and other administrative tasks
Pet Protect Guelph, Guelph - 42 Carden St
You would help plan events, coordinate pet intakes, interview potential fosters, and help spread the word about PPG.
