The board member will oversee a committee responsible for the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns and events in support of the Festival’s mission. This is an opportunity for a people-focused creative thinker with strong communication skills and an appreciation for the arts.
The festival is governed by a nine-person board responsible for strategic and succession planning, financial management, fundraising and human resource management. Our paid staff consists of a Festival Manager and an Artistic Director, supported by a seasonal Festival Assistant (May to Sept).
We seek community board members from Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo, Hamilton and Halton to fill board positions. This rare opportunity offers one of three candidates to be mentored into executive leadership in the role of Vice-President or President.
Our board meets monthly. Board members participate in various board committee such as: Program, Budget, Strategic Planning, Fundraising. Responsibilities include: support of our Executive Director and staff; ensuring compliance with Ontario legislation; and support of policy direction and evaluation.
We are a non-profit charity expanding across southwestern Ontario, dedicated to improving children’s well-being, expanding their vital connections to nature through photography.

The role of the board is to govern and assist with policy and overall direction of the centre. Some responsibilities may include, assisting with financials, assisting with advertising, fundraising, policy review. We do not, as a rule, get involved with the day to day operation of the centre. We are, however, available to the supervisor as a resource for consultation and advice. All of our meetings are currently being held via Zoom.
These may include grant writing, sponsorships, organizing special events or individual donation campaigns. We are looking for people who love working as part of team, know the community well and can help develop partnerships, enjoy researching and writing grants, and are creative thinkers.
