Volunteers will greet patients, visitors and other customers in a friendly manner and suggest gift ideas and offer assistance. You will process sales (cash, credit card, debit), check the card display to ensure everything is in appropriate spaces and restock it when necessary. You will also count the float and cash at the beginning and end of your shift and record complaints, concerns and compliments that require follow up from the Manager. Occasionally assisting with other duties, such as inventory, to keep the gift shop running efficiently.

Children's Foundation of Guelph and Wellington, Guelph - Waterloo Ave, Adopt-A-Family Program
Office & Database Support - help with the uploading of family referrals and donor sign-ups to the AAF database.
Editors - assist with electronic edits made to incoming family referrals and communicate with
social workers and donors to ensure that they have all the information they need.
Filers - process the referral and donor paperwork, preparing it for gift intake.
Matchers - assist with matching donors with appropriate families in need. Matching volunteers also help the Adopt-A-Family team deal with any special item requests or donations.
Donor Greeter – are friendly and outgoing with high attention to detail and they love talking to new people. Greeters accept the incoming donations at the Adopt-A-Family site as they arrive.
Accounting Assistant/Taxers - have high attention to detail and are great with numbers. The accounting volunteers review tax forms, follow up on any discrepancies, and enter information into
Donor Perfect, (our Donor Management system).
Tech Support – is an on-call volunteer who has technical and computer-related skills who can be of assistance to the Adopt-A-Family volunteers on an on-call basis.
Checkers – check that the donations received meets the needs/wishes of the adopted family.
Packagers - prepare the family’s gifts for pick-up.
Distributors - welcome agency workers and assist them in picking up the gifts for their family (or families).

Gift Shop Volunteers will provide customer service in The Elliot Community's gift shop, allowing residents and visitors to purchase items such as greeting cards, small gifts, and snacks. Duties include assisting residents with purchases, using the point of sale software, restocking inventory, and tidying shelves.
East Wellington Community Services, Erin - 45 Main St

Volunteers assist in fundraising efforts, through the sale of items in our retail clothing or book store. Volunteers accept and sort through incoming donations. Assist customers with locating items in the store; use cash register; open or close store; help promote the agency to the public specifically to our retail customers. Help maintain a friendly, welcoming environment. Great opportunity to volunteer with a friend!
Village of Riverside Glen
The Village of Riverside Glen
Open General Store to the village community. Keep accurate record of daily sales, assist residents with purchases, make change and balance sales record and cash. Put away new inventory, restock, tidy and straighten shelves.
Guelph General Hospital
Volunteers will work with the rest of the boutique team (other shop volunteers, retail manager) to keep the shop running as efficiently as possibly. You will process sales, suggest gift ideas if asked, and re-arrange items on display once you sell them. Volunteers will also dust all displays and ensure that cards are neat and in the appropriate spots on a daily basis. You will count your float and cash at beginning and end of your shift.
Out on the Shelf, Queer Library and Resource Centre

The role of the Treasurer is to assure that Out On The Shelf can sustain itself and grow
financially. The Treasurer takes care of all the tasks involving money before and after it
passes through the appropriate committee chairs.
● Collect and deposit donations
● Issue cheques and tax receipts
● File CRA forms & apply for tax returns
● Communicate financial matters to the board of directors
● Compile and present annual statistics
● Send bank statements and receipts to bookkeeper
● Attend monthly board meetings
