Occasionally assisting with other duties, such as inventory, to keep the gift shop running efficiently.

Many of our peer supported programs like Yoga, Zumba and Mindfulness have moved to a virtual platform! Volunteers are needed to assist staff and program leaders with providing online programs or assist clients with one-to-one support in getting connected. This role may include: offering basic tech support, assist with creating email address, software support or loading platforms.  
 
Volunteers in this role are required to have a good understanding of online meetings and tech problem solving skills. Tech training is not provided. Agency orientation and support are provided.  
 
Volunteers must have access to a computer and internet.

Check the communications sheet located in the program binder 
Begin the daily task list and complete throughout shift 
Ensure sufficient clothing for shift 
Call reception (extension 21) to indicate ability to receive a shopper 
Give community member a white basket located by the Clothing Bureau door 
If community member has children with them, ensure children are supervised for their safety  
Allow community members(s) to shop on own for clothing 
Check in every few minutes to see if community member needs help 
Fill out and tally the points for clothing selected 
Help bag up selected clothing 
Place completed form on clipboard 
Call down to reception to indicate readiness to accept additional shoppers (2 max at a time) 
Follow health & safety protocols 
At end of day staple clothing sheets together and put in bottom drawer at reception

Go through Food Market to see what items are running low on stock 
With supervision, bring up additional food items from basement 
Stock Shelves 
As product is selected, move shelved product to the front of shelves 
Bag up toilet paper 
Fill produce baskets with produce bags to make them ready for restocking 
Bag rice or navy beans 
Sort eggs in the walk-in cooler and put into empty half containers to put in Food Market for selection 
Break down boxes 
Take community members shopping 
Pack perishables and non-perishables for daily deliveries 
Maintain tidy and organized work space 
Follow health & safety protocols 
Other duties as required

Stocking our free clothing room.  
Duties would include sorting, folding, and hanging clothing.  
General tidying of the clothing room.

ReStore Assistants work with ReStore staff and other volunteers to run the day-to-day operations of the store. Volunteers put together product, merchandise product, clean and organize sections of the store, help customers in finding products that suit their needs and carrying and loading purchases into their vehicles, receive donations at the warehouse entrance, and test donated products before they go on the sales floor.  
 
For those who are interested in helping to promote the ReStore and our products online, you can support our online retail initiatives.  
 
You may also be asked to receive training on driving our trucks in order to support our donation pick-up team. Having a roster of trained and insured drivers is vital to ensure our Donation Pick-Up Service can be provided to our community.  
 
Individuals who complete a minimum number of hours in the store and who have an acceptable police records check completed are eligible to receive training on the cash register. This is a great opportunity to develop/utilize your customer service skills!
