Guelph Dance
Guelph Dance is a wonderful arts organization to be apart of because it is small and the people that are involved are truly committed to creating fabulous programming. The commitment is high and there is room for creativity and innovation; because of its size, your voice can be heard. Guelph Dance is in its 23rd year and it has created a very unique and exciting contemporary dance festival that proves to awe audiences every year. Additionally we offer a variety of educational and community engagement programming year round. 
 
We are currently looking for new blood to join our Board of Directors and seek to involve people from diverse backgrounds, abilities and ages, who have expertise in sectors outside the arts and can support our fundraising and strategic initiatives such as policy development, succession planning, community outreach and long term sustainability.

Many of our peer supported programs like Yoga, Zumba and Mindfulness have moved to a virtual platform! Volunteers are needed to assist staff and program leaders with providing online programs or assist clients with one-to-one support in getting connected. This role may include: offering basic tech support, assist with creating email address, software support or loading platforms.  
 
Volunteers in this role are required to have a good understanding of online meetings and tech problem solving skills. Tech training is not provided. Agency orientation and support are provided.  
 
Volunteers must have access to a computer and internet.

WE Breastfeed & Chestfeed program supports parents feeding human milk in any way, in any amount. Parents can receive support in two ways. One-to-one telephone support with trained and experienced parent-volunteers or weekly drop-in Breastfeeding & Chestfeed Cafes. Cafe is offered in an online format and is a great place for parents to socialize with other breastfeeding / chestfeeding families and get support with challenges. 
 
Become trained to offer support and lead group sessions providing feeding & parenting support to other parents. Keep logs of supporting, track hours, remain in good communication with the program coordinator. 
 
 
IMPORTANT Information:  
 
Volunteers in this role are required to have had breastfeed or chestfeeding experience. Please consider joining this program as an administrative support or in a health promotion role if you do not have breast or chest feeding experience.  
 
Guelph CHC acknowledges the importance of Peer-led work and offers 20 hours of training for this position but also ask for a minimum 6 month commitment. 
 
One of our strategic aims to build capacity in our community. Volunteers in this role must have a connection to Guelph.

SEED Fresh Food Warehouse - Guelph Location

The SEED is a not-for-profit food project at the Guelph Community Health Centre that was 
created to work towards a community with no barriers to healthy food. The Emergency Food Delivery Program is a response to Covid-19. This program supports 10,000 community members how are most deeply affected by the COVID-19 situation. For example: seniors, people with low-income, people with health challenges. 
 
Basket Packing and Warehouse Crew work together as a team (physically distance) picking and packing fresh and frozen meals into Emergency Food Basket at the packing warehouse. 
 
Basket Packing runs during the week during the day.  
 
Important Information: The warehouse is a large building with ample space for physical distancing and masks are required while on-site. There is a physical element to this role. Some of the produce is heavy or awkward.  
For example: a full cabbage, bag of potatoes and the full food baskets.

Delivery Crew Volunteers are critical to the success of this program. Delivery Drivers bring healthful food to people with barriers to transportation or who are unable to leave their homes.  
 
Delivery Crew Volunteers pick up Emergency Food Baskets at the packing warehouse and delivery them to community members homes. The Packing Warehouse is located on Huron Street in the Ward. It is a large enough building to drive into, has ample space for physical distance & everyone is required to be masked. Volunteer are required to drop Food Baskets off at the client doorway and do not enter homes.  
 
 
IMPORTANT Information: This position requires use of personal vehicle and cell phone. This role can be done in pairs with people from the same household.

Kitchen Crew works together as a team (physically distance) preparing meals to be frozen and delivered. Volunteers assist with food prep, proper packaging and labeling. 
 
Current shift times are Monday 10:30-4 pm and Tuesday to Thursday 8-4 pm.

Guelph & Area Right to Life
Various locations in Guelph and surrounding area
Guelph and Area Right to Life is currently looking for helpline volunteers who would be responsible for receiving calls over a week-long period every month.  
 
Calls are typically from women in crisis pregnancy situations seeking information and support.  
 
Interested individuals should be empathetic, have a willingness to learn about the resources of Guelph and the surrounding areas and should demonstrate compassion.
Immigrant Services Guelph-Wellington
Virtual - The sessions will be conducted via Zoom.
• Welcome the group and facilitate the session  
• Select an appropriate workout routine that does not require any equipment 
• Provide a suitable sound system for music to be audible for participants through online meeting tools 
• Select the music and dance routine in advance 
• Ensure that participants are able to follow the moves 
• Demonstrate simple steps that can be easily followed 
• Maintain a warm and welcoming environment where the conversation partner is treated with dignity and respect 
• Record the time spent volunteering and preparing for the session that will include practicing and the actual session.  
• Communicate any concerns or challenges to the program coordinator

What is the Travel Training program? 
• The Travel Training Program works to pair volunteers with adults living with disabilities looking to use the conventional transit system  
• All sessions are held in Guelph and are accessible by public transit 
 
What are the responsibilities of a Volunteer? 
• Volunteers will assist program participants in taking the conventional transit system. This includes boarding and exiting the bus, using transfers and creating a safe and supportive travel environment 
• Volunteers will ride a specific, pre-designated transit route with the program participant on a designated day of the week. (Stone Road Mall, grocery store etc.)  
• By providing your volunteer efforts, adults living with disabilities in the community are presented with an opportunity to increase their independence and confidence in a community engaged environment
