|Duties||Identify the duties of a member of the GWSA Board of Directors in accordance with the GWSA Constitution and By-laws. |
1. Attend Board meetings
a. Meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 0930 hours or at such other time and day as the Board may determine
b. Advise the President of planned absence
c. Attend a minimum of eight (8) Board meetings per year
d. Review most recent minutes upon receipt and take any action assigned
e. Be prepared at the following meeting to suggest any corrections, if necessary.
f. Receive and act upon monthly committee reports
g. Review monthly financial statements
2. Attend the GWSA Annual General Meeting
3. Encouraged to attend GWSA events such as Open House and new member reception
4. Represent the GWSA at any appropriate opportunity
5. Represent the Board on assigned committee(s).
a. Report Board issues to that Committee and report the Committee’s issues to the Board
b. Ensure committee members are aware of and follow the Committee Terms of Reference.
6. Participate in self-development training, where appropriate
7. Perform other such duties as may be from time to time, assigned to her/him by the Board or President.

Ability to strategically plan for GWSA, considering the current environment and recreational and social needs of seniors
Willingness and ability to represent the Association and the Board when required.
Tact and diplomacy in order to interact and work co-operatively with others.
Prepared to serve the full term of office. A single term of office for a Board member shall be three (3) years, with the option of serving two consecutive terms, if elected.
