DutiesDeveloped to address the needs of newcomer youth in Guelph & Wellington County, Frontier College virtual tutors work 1:1 or 1:2 via Zoom helping with math, science, reading & writing.
In partnership with Immigrant Services Guelph-Wellington, this virtual homework club program will involve approximately 12-15 registered learners paired with an individual tutor who will support them with completing their school assignments as well as provide supplementary educational support. Our winter session will run from the week of January 31 until the week of March 28 (no program the week of February 21 & the week of March 14).
Frontier College and Immigrant Services Guelph-Wellington run virtual newcomer homework support programs on Monday afternoons from 4:45pm-6:15pm (learners in grades 2-4) and Tuesdays from 4:15pm-5:45pm (learners in grades 5-8). A limited number of new volunteer tutors are needed to support each of these programs during our winter semester. Volunteers are only asked to support one program/week.
