Duties | Program expanding! SEED Delivery Team and Warehouse Crew volunteers needed. The SEED is a not-for-profit food project at the Guelph Community Health Centre that was created by a coalition to work towards a community with no barriers to healthy food. The SEED delivers programs and operates a social enterprise that address the causes and effects of food security. Groceries from the SEED is a pay-what-you-can online grocery store with a purpose! When you shop at Groceries from the SEED you help people in your community afford good food. It takes a community to feed a community. Find more information here https://theseedguelph.ca Everyone is welcome to sign up! Delivery Crew Volunteers are critical to the success of this program. Delivery Crew Volunteers pick up Groceries from the SEED baskets at the packing warehouse and delivery them to community members homes. Volunteers are required to drop groceries off at the door and do not enter homes. This role a great for someone who would like to volunteer in-person, has access to a vehicle, would like to interact directly with clients (distant, delivery to the door only) and doesn't mind working alone. Use of personal vehicle and cell phone are required for this role. Mileage compensation of use of personal vehicle is $6 per delivery route (6-10 stops) and paid quarterly. Self-scheduling with online spreadsheet is required. IMPORTANT Information: This role can be done in pairs with people from the same household OR willingness to ride along with another driver in The SEED's cargo van. *** Guelph CHC has a vaccination policy in place. | |||
