Refrigeration Truck Attendant
(Guelph and District Multicultural Festival)
|Impact Statement||Engaged culturally diverse & inclusive community|
|Contact||Cinthuja Leon, Guelph & District Multicultural Festival; Email: email@example.com|
|Duties||Help organize a world class, multicultural festival that offers Guelph & surrounding communities an affordable & accessible multi-faceted cultural experience. |
The Guelph and District Multicultural Festival had its beginnings as a small downtown event in 1978. It has since moved to Riverside Park, attendance has increased from 2,000 to 25,000 people and generates cultural awareness and funding for local community groups, as well as foster economic development in Guelph and beyond.
The Guelph & District Multicultural Festival relies heavily on an enthusiastic group of volunteers. Due to Covid-19, our organization has evolved beyond just a 3-day Festival. We now have several different positions that focus on ensuring our ethnic communities and youth group are engaged. We strongly believe it is through these engagements we can create a culturally diverse and inclusive community.
Refrigeration Truck Attendant Volunteers monitor our refrigerated truck and help the food vendors safely open and close the door while they access their food items in the truck. This role
involves some physical labour, including opening and closing the door and
arranging the truck's food items.
