Duties• Provide sighted guide assistance if needed 
• Promote the group to potential participants 
• Assist with set-up and coordination of groups, including matching volunteers to participants 
• Notify Program Lead, Sports & Recreation of changes to schedules or issues within the group 
• Meet group members and volunteers at the site 
• Track and report volunteer hours as directed

Skills/ExperienceCommunication & Interpersonal Skills - Strong verbal communication skills; able to clearly relay directions, and signals on the road with the participant who is blind or partially sighted ; Confidentiality - Agree to abide by CNIB’s Volunteer Code of Conduct, including policies and procedures concerning confidentiality, conflict of interest, and the prevention of workplace harassment and violence ; First Aid - Would be an asset
Commitment LengthShort Term (Up to 4 months) - Minimum 2 month commitment is preferred
Interaction LevelSmall Group - Guide a small group of individuals on a loop around the park
Minimum Hours1.5 / Week
Dates and TimesThursday: Morning (9:30 - 11:00 am) 
 
1.5 hours/week on Thursday mornings
