Dutieso When family/friend arrives to pick up patient, you may escort patient to their cars (push wheelchair, steady chair as patient gets in and out, put brakes on, open car door). Do not assist patient getting in or out of the chair. A nurse or the family member/friend may do so. 
o Monitor supply of wheelchairs in the Level 3 wheelchair storage area. If there are less than 3 wheel chairs available, obtain a wheel chair from the Level 1 entrance or Emergency. 
o Fold booklets – Day Surgery and Same Day Admission (SDA) 
o Re-file extra sheets from charts in Day Surgery 
o Ensure patient bedside tables have appropriate items  
o Make up patient gown bags 
o Fill the warming closet with blankets 
o Put together charts at request of staff 
o Ensure there is a supply of wheelchairs at the day surgery level 3 entrance 
o Provide a beverage to each patient at the request of staff 
o Make sure fridge is stocked
