(Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington, Guelph)
|Impact Statement||Building homes, Building community|
|Contact||Kathryn Stokes, Family & Volunteer Services Lead, Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington; Phone: (519) 767-9752 ext 76; Email: email@example.com|
|Duties||ReStore Assistants work with ReStore staff and other volunteers to run the day-to-day operations of the store. Volunteers put together product, merchandise product, clean and organize sections of the store, help customers in finding products that suit their needs and carrying and loading purchases into their vehicles, receive donations at the warehouse entrance, and test donated products before they go on the sales floor. |
For those who are interested in helping to promote the ReStore and our products online, you can support our online retail initiatives.
You may also be asked to consider receiving training on driving our trucks in order to support our donation pick-up team. Having a roster of trained and insured drivers is vital to ensure our Donation Pick-Up Service can be provided to our community.
Individuals who complete a minimum number of hours in the store and who have an acceptable police records check completed are eligible to receive training on the cash register. This is a great opportunity to develop/utilize your customer service skills!

|Benefits||Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington partners with families through affordable housing so that they may attain social and financial stability to transform their futures and our community. |
We do this by the following activities:
-Engaging volunteers and partners in the community, the ReStores and on the build site;
-Building and rehabilitating safe affordable family homes;
-Building financial stability; creating a potential pathway to homeownership.
We respect the diversity in generations, genders, ethnicities, races, languages, abilities, orientations and skills that our employees and volunteers reflect. We embrace a culture of inclusion, partnership, and engagement establishing meaningful connections with employees and the volunteers we rely on in a way that adds value to their lives.
Many other benefits come from volunteering at a Habitat for Humanity ReStore, including: relationship-building, making a positive environmental impact (the Habitat ReStore diverts thousands of pounds of waste from the dump), developing/improving your own skills, gaining experience, earning volunteer hours for various community service requirements, the opportunity to receive letters of recommendation, special in-store discounts, and more!
