DutiesThis multi-stakeholder team will work according to the principles outlined in the Older Adult Strategy (OAS), to ensure that Guelph is a great place to live and age well. The COALT (Community Older Adult Leadership Team) Committee is responsible for the stewardship of the Older Adult Strategy Framework in Guelph. Stewardship responsibilities include: 
•Lead, uphold and advocate for the achievement of the vision and goal of the Older Adult Strategy through coordinating the prioritized implementation of the Strategies recommendations  
•Adhere to the COALT Terms of Reference 
•Ensure the voice of older adults is recognized  
•Gather evidence (through research and evaluation) to support making decisions and take timely action  
•set priorities and actions plans 
•Provide leadership to the implementation of the recommendations in the OAS 
•Influence others to contribute to the goals of the Older Adult Strategy vision  
•Guide and support the development of working groups 
•Engage directly in implementation activities  
•Refer and use the WHO (World Health Organization) age-friendly communities Global Network as a support tool  
•Attend meetings

Commitment LengthStart January 2015  
Two year term  
Mandatory Meetings (approximately 12 meetings per year, but in year one, 5 meetings between January and March then less frequent throughout the year)  
Maximum of two consecutive terms  
In the first year, 25-50% of the team will serve for a one-year term
