Description & Services
Description (Service) Free to Grow Program: Financial support for children and youth from low-income families so that they can participate in sports, arts, camps and other recreational activities, as well as life-skill development opportunities such as babysitting, driver's training, tutoring and more.
**Funds of up to $400 per child, per year are available for the child’s choice of activity. See:

Free to Grow at Home Program: Because many activities have been impacted due to the pandemic, the Children's Foundation has adapted the Free to Grow program to create a new support initiative, Free to Grow at Home, that encourages children and youth to participate in recreational and life skill development activities while enhancing their well-being and healthy development. The program's goal is to provide recreational equipment, supplies and resources for children to have fun while playing at home. See Free to Grow at Home program for more information.

Free to Grow Mental Health support: The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington is taking important steps forward to ensure that children’s overall health and well-being are supported, by expanding their Free to Grow program to include mental health counselling with Five Star Relationships for local children and youth from low-income households. Referrals are through CMHA -

Eligibility Ages: 18 year(s) and under 
Families with incomes below the low-income cut-off (Stats Canada LICO) are eligible for funding. LICO is based on a sliding scale dependent on the size of the family. Proof of income and family size is required.
