Description (Agency) Assists patrons to access library resources, including print and non-print collections of materials to meet informational needs and interests of the community * acquires and preserves public and private records in a variety of formats that document the history of the City of Guelph
Description (Service) All Guelph Public Library locations are closed until Apr 30, 2020 due to COVID-19. Overdue fines will not accumulate during this closure and items on hold will still be available when the library re-opens. All bookdrops are closed; patrons are asked to keep all materials until library operations resume.

* book clubs, ESL conversation circles, regular programming for adults and children, local history and archives 
Extension Services provides access to library materials for special needs patrons: 
* Visiting Library Services: complimentary home delivery service of library materials to members unable to visit library because of physical or visual disability, long-term illness or advanced age 
Talking Books: audiobooks in various formats available for members unable to use regular print due to blindness or a visual, physical or reading disability Live Homework Help: online tutoring service featuring expert tutors from across North America. This free service allows students from Kindergarten through early university and college years, and adult learners, to connect to tutors for one-to-one homework help sessions

Eligibility Library membership is free to anyone who lives in or owns property in Guelph. Residents of Cambridge and Wellington County may obtain a free Reciprocal Borrowing membership. Library cards are available for a fee to other non-residents.
