Description (Service) There have been no filing extensions announced by CRA so the general filing deadline for the 2020 personal income tax returns is April 30, 2021.
br> Free tax preparation clinics for individuals with a modest income and a simple tax situation who are unable to complete their income tax and benefit return themselves. Where indicated, call ahead to book an appointment at the desired location.

Clinics listed below are offered through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), a collaboration between the CRA and community organizations. Organizations host tax preparation clinics and arrange for volunteers to prepare tax returns for eligible individuals.

Additional information: Everyone requiring a tax return to be prepared must be present when their information is dropped off for identification purposes. Participants will also be asked to provide authorization for the tax preparer to send taxes electronically to CRA. Returns can take up to 2 weeks to process and return. A date for pick –up will be provided to you by the Volunteer preparing taxes.

Eligibility CVITP Income Eligibility Criteria (you may be eligible if you have a modest income and a simple tax situation): 
One person: annual income less than $35,000; two persons: total family income less than $45,000; 3 persons: less than $47,500; 4 persons: less than $50,000; 5 persons: less than $52,500; more than 5 persons: $52,500 plus $2,500 for each additional person 
**Local community organizations have the flexibility to adjust eligibility criteria for tax filers based on local economic considerations, the population served, and their own capacity - inquire about specific local requirements
