Description & Services
Description (Service) Seasonal immunization program that targets influenza, an acute respiratory illness, and provides access to the influenza vaccine. Flu shots are available through local clinics that may be offered by: 
* public health units, community health centres, public hospitals 
* physicians offices or nurse practitioner clinics 
* long-term care homes 
* pharmacies 
* flu shots available by appointment through family physician or primary care provider

Eligibility Immunization against influenza is recommended for everyone 6 months and older. 
Where to get a Flu Shot: 
* children 6 months-5 years: family doctor/primary health care provider, or public health unit (not a pharmacy) 
* ages 5 years and older: pharmacy, family doctor/primary health care provider, public health unit 
Flu season (2020-21): High-dose flu vaccine for seniors (65 years and older) will be available through pharmacies. Public Health cannot guarantee requests for high-dose flu vaccine for seniors.
