Description & Services
Description (Agency) Helps youth and adults maximize skills and develop their ability to learn, providing help with reading, writing and mathematics.
Description (Service) During the COVID-19 emergency, phone calls and e-mail messages are being answered. Call the Learning Centre for any needs or concerns you may have. Phones and e-mail will be checked every 24 hours. 
 
Literacy and basic skills training, including numeracy, digital, communication and interpersonal skills * helps learners prepare for employment, apprenticeship, secondary-school credit, post-secondary education and greater independence 
 
Other programs include: 
* Youth and Adult Literacy Program - provides a volunteer one-to-one tutor 
* Let's Get Real - youth build essential skills and establish an employment or academic goal path 
* Adult Small Group - prepares adults to write their General Education Development (GED) exam or prepare for the workplace 
* Circles Guelph Wellington, Arthur location - for people living in poverty in Wellington County, excluding the City of Guelph
Hours Mon-Thu 9 am-4:30 pm, Fri 9 am-12 noon 
Alternate times may be available by appointment based on staff availability

Eligibility * Youth: in school, 8-18 years, struggling with literacy demands 
* Let's Get Real: youth 16-29 years 
* Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS): Ontario residents 19 years and older, with reading, writing and math skills below Grade 12 of the Ontario Curriculum * must have facility in English
