Description (Agency) Adjudicative body accountable to the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs that provides an independent, accessible, and impartial avenue of appeal on agricultural issues. Holds hearings and renders decisions on matters in dispute under the authority of a wide variety of statutes.
Description (Service) Hears appeals and decides issues involving: 
* land drainage 
* marketing boards 
* crop insurance 
* licensing issues 
* farm property classification 
* treatment of agricultural employees 
* disputes under various statutes 
**Also accredits general farm organizations and considers requests for religious exemptions from registering farm businesses

Eligibility Members (at minimum 10 persons) appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, upon recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Members appointed for initial term of 2 years; are eligible for reappointment (to a maximum of 10 years)

Languages English ; French ; Note: Hearings are normally conducted in English in a room provided by the Tribunal or municipality.
