Description (Agency) Provincial headquarters for the Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario.
Description (Service) Personal growth opportunities for rural and urban women and their families. 
* educational programs 
* health and wellness initiatives 
* advocacy for social / economic change 
* assists women to become active citizens 
* promotes leadership skills 
* approximately 4,000 members and 300 branches across Ontario 
Programs and activities include: 
ROSE (Rural Ontario Sharing Education) Program 
* unique province-wide initiative run by Women's Institute members who organize a broad range of educational programs and events in their communities 
Scholarship and Awards program to assist: 
* students pursuing higher education 
* members furthering their education 
* students in developing countries 
NOTE: For Scholarships to be awarded, proof of enrolment must be received by the FWIO Provincial Office by Sep 30  
Tweedsmuir History Books 
* compile and preserve local community history and Women's Institute events 
* important research tool for study of Ontario history at local level

For the 2016 scholarship, students must complete a 500-word essay, answering the question: "After researching the Federated Women’s Institutes of Ontario, how could Women’s Institutes help to advocate change for young women’s education?"
