Description & Services
Description (Agency) Provides animal control and shelter services for the City of Guelph and Wellington County (including Erin). Intake facility for Township of Puslinch.
Description (Service) Programs include:
* sheltering and adoption of stray or surrendered animals
* helping lost animals return home
* wildlife care and assistance
* dog / cat licensing
* humane education
* animal by-law enforcement
* animal neglect and / or cruelty investigations
* March break, summer camps, PA Days, birthday parties, and Junior Humane Club children's programs

DocuPet Program - Online licensing system that allows pet owners to register both dogs and cats with the City of Guelph. Pet registrations may be purchased online at Guelph DocuPet or in person at Guelph Humane Society or Service Guelph. If a dog / cat is microchipped, spayed or neutered, or is a service dog, supporting documentation must be provided. If the pet is a service dog, registration must be done in person.
**All adopted dogs and cats are required to be spayed / neutered, microchipped, and have appropriate vaccines.

Pets in Transition Program - Pet safety planning, resources and referrals, temporary foster placement and care for pets of women seeking shelter from domestic violence. All services free of charge.
Support offered in collaboration with Community Veterinary Outreach, Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis, local veterinarians and other animal welfare organizations. Staff of Guelph Humane Society seek the best foster match for the animal(s) from a pool of caregivers with specialized training in caring for animals who may have experienced or witnessed violence.
Hours Mon-Wed, Fri 9 am-6 pm, Thu 9 am-8 pm, Sat 9 am-5 pm, Sun 10 am-4 pm * last Wed of each month 1 pm-6 pm

Pets in Transition: to access foster care for pets, women must be (or will soon be) residents of Marianne's Place (operated by Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis); large and small animals are eligible
