Description & Services
Description (Service) Program to assist Ontario residents who have high prescription drug costs in relation to their net household income. 
* provides coverage for prescription drug products listed on the Ontario Drug Benefit Formulary (list of products) 
* coverage of drug products not listed on Formulary also considered for TDP recipients through Exceptional Access Program on case-by-case basis 
* part of the Ontario Drug Benefit program

Eligibility Individuals may be eligible if: 
* they have a valid Ontario Health Card and are a resident of Ontario 
*Are not covered under the Ontario Drug Benefit plan according to their eligibility requirements 
*Do not have private health insurance or private insurance does not cover 100% of prescription drug costs

Application Trillium applications and guides are available at local pharmacies, or by calling 1-800-575-5386 (toll free) * also available from website 
Exceptional Access Program: 
* Ontario doctor prescribing the drug must apply on behalf of their patient  
* approval must be given by the Ministry for any drugs not on the Formulary 
* drugs must be purchased from either an accredited Ontario pharmacy OR an Ontario doctor who is licensed to sell prescription drug products and is linked to the Ministry’s Health Network System

*an annual fee or 'deductible'  
*up to $2 per prescription or 'co-payment'
